Hi everyone. A friend uses Paint Shop Pro and has offered PSP tube file to me. Are they compatible with Photoshop Elements, or must I stick with abr. files. Not even sure that I know what I am talking about, but I hope you do and that you are very gentle on me. Regards Schaf

Hi Schaf,
I am no expert in this but a little googling seems to reveal that psp tube files are not compatible with PSE.
However, I am sure someone more versed in this will be able to confirm.

Schaf,
Simone is correct. PSP Tube files are not compatible with Elements. Brushes in Elements are in the .abr format.
The link Marianne post explains it in details.
I know nothing about PSP and its files. However, from the information in that link, it looks like that you need to use a converter such as IrfanView to convert the PSP files into PNG files (which can be handled by Elements and support transparency). However, one more step will be necessary -- to create brushes (.abr files) from the PNG files (Edit>Define Brush).
NOTE: Keep this in mind. When you define a brush, the size of the area being used to create the brush (a selection within the canvas, the whole canvas, etc.) cannot be larger than 2500px in any direction. If you go over this limit, the Define Brush command will be grayed out.
EDIT: Here is a PSP>PNG Converter. It seems pretty straightforward.

Thanks every one , Irfanview did the conversion for me very nicely, so did not download the suggestion from Sepiana.
