I just received E-Mail notice that the long-time popular photography site, dPreview, is shutting down for good.
One could always count on them for good answers to tough questions.
After they tore down the iconic historic wonderful big Jerry's in the middle of Western Kentucky Parkway at Beaver Dam and replaced it with an Arbys, nothing surprises me anymore.

Blame it on Amazon. They bought them and now killed them. It is a shame.

Blame it on Amazon. They bought them and now killed them. It is a shame. It doesn't surprise me that Amazon bought them; they have and are buying everything else --- but I cannot fathom what Amazon would have wanted with dPreview in the first place.

I just received E-Mail notice that the long-time popular photography site, dPreview, is shutting down for good. Thanks for the post BuckSkin. Damn anyway. A very handy site and the two guys from Calgary who produced the DPR YouTube videos were great. DPR and the YouTube channel was my go to place for reviews.

Sad to see it go. Always found the reviews to be very helpful and have guided my choice of camera and lenses several times. I guess giving unbiased reviews isn’t a way to make money plus the camera market is shrinking thanks to smarter phones.
