Case 586E Forklift w/ManliftMonday_13-February-2023Our on and off project the last year has been felling the trees, hauling the logs, sawing the logs into lumber on my band-mill, and building this barn.
For the last few months I have spent several hours standing in that basket; it sure beats the heck out of scaffolds and ladders.(That's not me in there now; I am on the ground taking the picture)About the forklift: The earliest example I could find was a 1986 and the most recent a 1998. Engine: J.I.Case 4-390 239 ci 69 hp Liquid-cooled 4-cylinder Direct Injection Diesel 4-speed Shuttle Trans-axle 4 Forward - 4 Reverse 2WD or 4WD Base Weight: 12,062 lbs up to 14,118 lbs depending on mast option and whether 2WD or 4WD Maximum Lift Capacity: 6,000 lbs to 12'(it will go a lot higher)For anyone who lives around here in the Gate Capitol of the World, no explanation is needed for the splatters of green and red-orange paint and the ring of green around that tire; this machine's day job is at the neighboring gate factory, where the paint is still wet and dripping off the gates as they are being loaded for delivery; a word of advice = never tailgate a gate truck unless you want little spatters of paint all over your vehicle (I wouldn't recommend tailgating or driving beside a cattle trailer for the same reason, except that the splatters are a different kind of paint).
I hope you have learned something from my endeavors; thanks for looking.
