If you use PhotoRaw 2023 and use a cloud service (OneDrive, Google Drive, etc.) I'd like you help in testing something.
I just started using PhotoRaw 2023 about a month ago and noticed some strange issues with the way photo times were being changed. I've been working with On1 support and they have had trouble reproducing the problem, which has forced me to get more diligent in my testing. What I've seemed to determine is that the time problem occurs only with images stored on my OneDrive. If I move the images to another location, the problem goes away. I don't see any problem with PhotoRaw 2022 - just 2023.
Here is what I'm hoping someone can test for me. You need to have PhotoRaw 2023 and your OneDrive/GoogleDrive/etc/ sync'ed with your computer.
1) Take two images that can make an HDR (although I expect two images to make a panorama would do the same). Put them on your OneDrive/GoogleDrive. After you make the HDR, did the time shift (in my case +5 hours) from the original photos? 2) Repeat the process, with the files not on your OneDrive/GoogleDrive. Is the time of the resulting image correct? (which it is for me)

The original image dates are correct. The only get messed up within PhotoRaw 2023. If I work on them in Lightroom or PhotoRaw 2022, I have no issues.

Bumping this back up in hopes I can find someone else to test this. On1 can't replicate the issue and I'm hoping to find someone who can.

Hi Andy,
I was able to do this test for you - I took 2 photos and put them in my OneDrive folder - I then created a HDR in On1 Photo Raw 2023 using the 2 files and which was saved in the OneDrive folder. On1 shows the data/time as the same for the created HDR and the 2 files I started with.

Andy, I would be suspicious of something going on in the ON1 Catalog. I have experimented with ON1 also, and have had issues with the catalog. I have to say that any app that runs a catalog and me do not get along well, Organizer, Apple Photos, any DAM, sooner or later just don't work for me. I currently have had pretty good luck with Adobe Bridge and PSE 2023. But time will tell.

I wasn't working with the catalog. I'm just browsing the folders and working from them. I've been trying to get away from the catalog approach as it doesn't move well between computers. I'm trying to get a solution that allows me to keep the photos on OneDrive, and then edit seamlessly between devices. On1 does that pretty nicely, but the time issue has me a bit at wits end.

The best management solution I have found is to use FastStone to do all of my organization so far as the "where" of things and digiKam's excellent and impressive Keyword Tag handling abilities to always be able to immediately "Find" the images.
If I took a picture of a possum in 1963 and I want to immediately find that photo within seconds; I go to the Tags tab in digiKam and scroll to Animals>Wildlife>Possum and beneath Possum = Male Possum, Female Possum, Juvenile Possum --- I click on Possum (any of the Possum "child" choices will narrow my search even farther) and scroll through the thumbnails until I find the one I seek --- I select/hi-lite my chosen image and do Item>Open in Default Program; and, in the blink of an eye, there is my possum displayed in FastStone full-screen view with all the necessary information at hand for me to know exactly where on my hard-drive it is located, plus the ability to immediately view everything in that same folder --- which will be everything taken on that particular day.
All I have ever found catalogs to be is something to constantly be fiddling with and also something that will mess with your metadata in negative ways --- the most common being corrupting the Date/Time Taken, either by changing the time from your time zone GMT offset to actual GMT, or, even far worse, by replacing Date Taken with the time modified (which for all practical purposes is basically useless so far as picture images are concerned).

Andy - revisiting this thread. I've run into problems where On1 Photo Raw 2023 was changing the date/time on files I edited. Tech support said they were working on it but never got back to me. I finally followed-up with them and was told the bug was being fixed in the next release (2024). I just downloaded the 30day trial of On1 Photo Raw 2024 and was happy to find the problem has been solved. Not sure it helps with your situation or not but thought I'd share.

Nope. I downloaded the trial and played with it for all of about 15 minutes and I still have the issue of the times getting messed up.
