Well, I hope they're not flying south, unfortunately Victoria still allows duck shooting and it starts sometime next month.😢

Well, I hope they're not flying south, unfortunately Victoria still allows duck shooting and it starts sometime next month That is your "autumn" season. It is the same here in the Northern Hemisphere, i.e. fall is hunting season. I've not hunted for decades. It is heavily regulated with a view to management of populations. The Poohbahs say there are far too many snow geese and now there are spring and fall seasons with liberal daily bag limits. Apparently, the snow geese (something like 15 million) cause damage to the tundra. For me, there will never be enough snow geese.  |

Took a few duck photos today.
Impressive !
I like that you have identified each type.
You definitely need to make a book = "Know Your Ducks"
Once you get the book in print, there is a fringe benefit that probably pays big = those old guys standing in the cranberry swamp can make a commercial where they are surrounded by ducks and the sillier guy can be holding your book "Know Your Ducks"
But then, now that I think about it, I haven't seen those old guys in a while; they may be in the old folks home or the graveyard by now. |
