Content-aware Fill was introduced in Elements 13.
Select > Subject was introduced in Elements 2020; this new feature is powered by Adobe Sensei. You just click once and Elements automatically selects the main subject in your image. If Elements is not intelligent enough, you can edit your selection -- Add to selection or Subtract from selection. You can also invoke Select > Refine Edge.
If you prefer not to permanently install a third-party font on your OS, you can use the workaround suggested in . . . Managing How Elements Uses Fonts.

Here's a fun Photoshop Elements Text Effect, putting some text behind a person in a photo. This Photoshop Elements trick requires several steps, removing any unwanted people or objects, copying the subject to a new layer, removing the subject from the background layer, adding in a new text layer, then adding a gradient to the text.
