i.ibb.co/Yyn55hz/mar-39-1-effort.jpgDid you know about the Remove Background tool in Preview? It sometimes does an amazing job. The flower (Anemone) are one of our sure signs of spring here. When I tried to use the Select tools in PSE, I had little luck. If you would like to try this yourself, I'll post the original photo in jpeg or send it via a message to you. I was really surprised when PSE 2023 just wouldn't do a decent job. Yes, I was having fun with backgrounds! cjt

I did take a screenshot of your image above and gave it a try. I use PSCC and it works well for me.....but fun little tidbit to know.

If you look in my gallery, there is jpeg that is supposed to be high quality. I get inconsistent results with all of this. And I do know that making selections is a dark art of some kind or other. cjt

I often select a small portion of an image that I want to make a selection of. It was a tip that I learned from one of the PS gurus.......sorry I forget which one. For your picture, if I wanted to select the flower I would start here:

Thanks, cjt! Learned another use for Preview! Many Mac folks have no idea what Preview (built into the OS) can do for free.
