A performance issue (a bug) has been reported to the Adobe Support Community. It relates to the current Lightroom Classic version -- 12.2.1, Mac and Windows.
Adobe is already addressing this issue and it will be fixed in the next update. In between, you may want to try the workaround they suggest. (See the post by Rikk Flohr, Adobe Employee.)
LrC 12.2.1 fails to start/launch or is extremely slow launching
