As I understand it the mask over your image will be black thus hiding your image completely. When you use a white brush on the mask your image will be revealed with the texture of the brush strokes you apply to the mask. You would want to vary the size of the brush and the opacity of the strokes. For my example I put a white layer beneath my image so that the "paper" where the brush strokes didn't appear would be white. I did this in PS but the same would hold true for PE. u.cubeupload.com/HMCA/ScreenShot20150804at.pngIn thinking about this, I want to add that it might also be interesting to add a texture or painting effect to your image before adding the mask. Christell correct me if I'm wrong.
