There were many lovely images this IOW period. Choosing just a few was stressful, but here they are: Dandc - Sparkling - the bird is so striking against the background and I love the way the image sparkles! Howard - Oradour_sur_Glane_(3) - love the subject, colors and composition of this image. I wonder about the story behind the image - how/why did the car get there - what is the story behind the crumbled ruins? Jim - Chinatown Floribunda rose - this is a rose with lovely golden tones, complemented by a soft background which highlights it's subject. Lilias - if you go down to the woods - I loved both of Lilias' compositions this period but this one makes me smile at the cubs antics. The background is stunning and turns this image into a work of art. Clive - White Pelicans - ah Clive - what can I say. Another wonderful wildlife photo. I really like the color, movement and size of the pelicans in this image. If you haven't created a gallery yet, check the newsfeed at the top of the page! Tpgettys has added links which make it easy for you to find everything you need to know! All of the images will be added to the IOW 2023 Member Gallery

Although it doesn't make it easy for our judge; it is wonderful to see the increase in gallery submissions and interest in the IOW. Thanks to all who submitted images and Pat for making the tough decisions this round. Congratulations to Dan, Howard, Jim, Lillias and Clive......thoughtfully crafted images. They will be added to the 2023 IOW Gallery.

Thanks everyone, it's nice to be chosen and helps build confidence that I'm doing something right. Congratulations to other winners too. srmoment ...The story of the village in my pic is not a happy one and I won't go into detail here as it is quite distressing and I don't want to bring the tone of the forum down. Googling it will provide all the details for anyone interested. It was a bit of a struggle to look back at the photos for processing as the place and events stay stuck in my head. Beautiful day here in Sydney but winter's on the way, almost into single figure C overnight!
