I want to add multiple arrows to a picture, changing the color of each arrow, but when I try doing this I change the first arrow color. How do I add additional shapes to a picture?
I forget how to do this.
Thank you!

There is most certainly a better way and my suggestions has flaws. If you flatten the image the new color selected will be applied. There has to be a better way.

Have you placed them on separate layers so that each new shape can be given a separate color.

I have Elements 2023 so I'm sure it's the same procedure. On the very bottom right side of your monitor you should see (starting left to right) several icons labeled "layers", "FX/effects", "filters","styles", etc. Just left-click on the first one that says "layers" which should then show you all the layers you have made thus far in your editing.

There are many ways to accomplish a task in PSE, here's my way.As already been mentioned, it's better if each of your arrows is on it's own layer To make multiple layers: draw an arrow -- go to your layers panel - click on the arrow - right click to get menu for that layer - choose "duplicate layer." Do this as many times as the layers you wish to create. Each duplication will be on it's own layer. To keep things orderly, I suggest you rename each layer - i.e., red arrow, blue arrow, etc. After you have labeled your duplicate layers, click on one of them - if you have labeled it 'red' - change the foreground color to red and use the paint bucket to fill the arrow Repeat with each layer - make sure you are on the layer you wish to fill with color - make sure you have changed the foreground color _____________________________________________________________________________ The bottom shows foreground and background color - click on foreground color to change the color
- you can tell which box is foreground and which is background because the foreground icon is on top of the background icon - it's in the 'foreground' Second on left - under 'draw' - is the paint bucket. Click on the bucket, then click on the item you wish to color

Charles, here is another way to have the Arrow shape on its own layer so that you can give it different colors. 1. Draw the Arrow shape. 2. Activate the Move tool (V). 3. Hold down the Alt/Opt key and drag the shape.
NOTE:When you combine the Move tool with the Alt/Opt key, Elements will automatically duplicate the shape as you drag it.

This "disappearance act" may happen again. In the Basic Workspace of the Expert mode, you can see only one panel at a time. For example, if you bring up the Styles panel, that's the only panel you will see. I would recommend you use the Custom Workspace instead. It will provide you with a more efficient editing process. 1. Go to the right corner of the window. 2. Click on the downside arrow next to the More button. 3. Choose Custom Workspace.
