Hi everyone. Thank you for your numerous and interesting submissions. Here are my picks.
Wisteria House, by hmca

The mellow tonality with the contrasted lines allow us to appreciate the character of this house while acknowledging some of its details, like the roof, the chimney, the dormer, the wooden plank wall, the shutters, the gallery. For a short while I wondered if the surrounding vegetation and flowers that seemed out of focus (wind, processing?) could be considered as a technical flaw. I decided that it was contributing to the restful atmosphere and helped bring attention to the main subject.

Frankly, this image speaks for itself. It does give a good sense of how special the place is and what great impression it can give. The reflection of the mosque in the windows of the skyscraper is unique. I would be tempted to say that it is the result of a brilliant reflection…, meaning of course fine observation coupled with skilled and meticulous execution.

Not a very nice day, but a superb image. Carefully framed, well balanced, subtle leading lines with an engaging discrete foreground, a soft special purplish tint and, most of all, a respectful, meaningful and informative delivery of an exotic living environment. This image kind of summarizes a series of four on a same theme. Looking at it is almost like travelling.

I think I would call this one “Birdy the Pilot”. All the typical flying bird photography difficulties are well-managed, including the initial settings, the focus, the shutter speed, the camera shake, the quantity and direction of the light. Moreover, the composition is perfect. The position of the bird in the image makes sense. The empty space beneath the bird is consistent with the notion of flying. The diagonal light clouds direct the eye towards the bird. The wings, the body and the expression leave no doubt: we are in the middle of a crucial flying movement.
