For something a little different this week, I took something from recent science news. NASA combined images from the James Webb Space Telescope, the Chandra X-ray Observatory, plus four other telescopes to create this amazing composite of the Eagle Nebula.
Have fun!

Enlarged 2x using Gigapixel. Flipped horizontally and used the difference blend mode. Duplicated and used the screen mode. Hue/Sat. adjustment layer to bring out the cyan. Extracted the subject and placed on a black background. Here's lookin at ya!

Thanks so much for this one, Andy! The Eagle Nebula has always reminded me of Godzilla, so I turned it into a version of the monster! Found a photo of a high-rise office, with a great view, in Tokyo and created a clipping mask using the windows. Then I dragged the nebula photo over above the smart object layer and clipped it. I moved the monster around to where I wanted it and added a layer mask to mask out the intergalactic background. "Why is it always Tokyo?"

Added the Eagle Nebula to his sweatshirt, then added the young man to the night sky background.

That was interesting to play with. Not sure what I had in mind but I rotated and cropped out the so-called Pillars of Creation piece of the Eagle nebula and found an image by John Fowler on Unsplash that seemed like a nice spot to put the Pillars of Creation with some colour adjustments: Tony

I wasn't sure what everyone would do with that image, but I'm impressed with the creativity!
