I''d like to call your attention to this post by Howard . I have been going through the pictures in the Steve McCurry exhibit that Howard linked to. On my second visit to the post I came across these pictures and accompanying text. I hope that they may encourage some of you to spend some time looking through the work that was shared.

hmca, you've chosen two of the images that moved me the most too. There is certainly a lot of sadness in the exhibition, whether like those above, the oil covered bird or the falling towers in NY, and it connects us all to the good, the bad, the evil and the unfairness of humanity. And as he says, its that emotional response that makes a photo really special and hardest to get. There is also an audio commentary by the photographer for those who prefer to listen than read.

Hmmm, so many images that made me wince, and many more that made me smile. I love the fishermen on their poles, the boys in the boot, and the man carrying his rusted sewing machine through the floodwaters, just to name a few....

Well I have finished my "tour", and looking for more, came across his current blog post on the value of work. His pictures illustrate the commitment, diligence and honor of work that people take pride in doing well. Thanks again Howard for starting me on this "journey". It was time well-spent.
