A little bit of trivia regarding pool table color from the U.S.Sun magazine:
"Pool tables although usually green, are sometimes blue, and there is a very good reason for this.
In the 1970s green pool tables were switched to blue for televised championships, due to the green cloths making it harder for viewers at home to see the balls.
Modern televisions mean that the green snooker tables should no longer cause a problem for those watching, but blue pool tables are still used sometimes, like in the US Open Pool Championships."

tonyw and pete61. Thanks for the input......I've always said that the RAW challenge is a great learning experience. This photo has certainly given us a lot to think about....which hopefully encourages more edits. Keep them coming everyone.

Played around some more with the colour balance to get the pool table cloth to be green - that did result in the rest of the room being too yellow so had to fix that by desaturating yellow - here's where I finished up. Still don't know what the real colours are - if there is such a thing! Tony

Thanks for trying to figure that out. Looking at the chandeliers, to my eye the colors you got in this edit seem most natural....and that gave the table the blue cover. Maybe when the photographer posts at the end he will remember the actual color.

And for something entirely different! Used an expressionism filter in Topaz Studio 2 and a matching frame generated in Filter Forge to get to this riot of color: Tony

Trying for the darkened look that I mentioned earlier. Used my original edit and the geometry feature to scale and control the look of the image. Converted to black and white using the black and white adjustment in PS adjusting the color sliders. Placed the black and white above my original edit and used the hue slider at a 37% opacity. Added a slight vignette

Gosh, thank you to everyone for taking the time and effort to play with my image; it has been fascinating watching where your whims and fancies took you. You have by now realised that it was taken in the Pool Room in Graceland. I now have the tough job of now selecting my favourite three. My first selection is fotofrank 'My Final Image' because it is closest to where I was heading with my edit, the brightness showing how the walls matched the ceiling and leaving me the same sense of 'wow' as when I walked into the room. i.ibb.co/82jXhNQ/RAW-Challenge.jpgMy next selection is tonyw and his square crop because I would never in a million years have thought to crop out so much of the room, and it teaches me to play more outside of my box. The focus suddenly shifts to the lights, which are otherwise somehow slightly lost in amongst the madness of the rest. i.ibb.co/BG9S4rd/pool-table-2.jpgAnd my final selection I could not resist as being tonyw (again)using the expressionism filter becasue it uses an artistic way to simplify the decoration, making them surprisingly more visible and retaining the original feel. i.ibb.co/THYhN9r/pool-table-3-expressionism-framed.jpgBy the way, my recollection is that the baize was blue, but I have to say I wasn't particularly focused on it.
