As some of you may have noticed from some of my other links to interesting articles, I visit the Digital Photography School website regularly. As today is a slow day in the office I just quickly stopped by the website and came across this interesting article that encourages you to go on a cow safari (other animals are available). The author makes a compelling point about picking up the camera and just going out there to take shots without planning them ahead of time and to just have fun with the camera. I don't know about you, but for the most part my planning is a little "loose" shall we say. Some days I head out with a certain shot in mind, but most often then not, my trips out tend to be more of the cow safari type. Some of my best pictures (in my opinion) came from just heading out with no plan. So, do you plan your shots in advance (which, if you are a professional would make sense) or are you more like me, taking cow safaris?

Most of the time I'm a safari type of photographer. Occasionally, when I participate in a photo challenge, planning captures seems to make the challenge more fun and educational for me.

Well, I'm the safari kind of girl. The only I plan I make is what kind of lens I take with me. The light inspires me the most and can put some ideas into my head.

A little of both I guess. I am often working on a "project" or theme. However, we are going into NYC this weekend and I'll definitely be on a safari!
