I post so many photos taken in and around Casey County Kentucky that I thought you guys might enjoy THISThanks! Obviously, I did not read it all but downloaded it and took a quick look. What an interesting document ... more communities should do this. My only comment is: it would have been nice to put the dates with the photos. It was quite easy to fine dates by searching for the code numbers. Dates were provided for some buildings. Thanks.

The publication date of the document is July 2011.
I haven't even scratched the surface of all the information and photos they have included; hopefully there are some GPS coordinates so one can pinpoint locations and get an idea in Google Earth Pro what is still there in the most recent satellite view = March 2021.
HMCA has found a jewel that even I didn't know existed; I will have to see if I can lay eyes on it (and lens).
I did recently post a not-so-great photo of the now boarded up Peggy Tarter store in Dunnville and I saw that they had a much better photo when it was still in business and I think even a shot of her outside.
I also saw a country store on Faulkner Lane that I know has recently met it's demise at the hands of a huge track-hoe, along with every other old historic building in that valley; I am fairly certain that I recently posted photos of Faulkner Lane or maybe I intended to and thought I did.
I recently went on, of all things, two lengthy Tractor Wagon Trail Rides; I knew they were doing them for several years, but these were my first.
I now know why people will quit good jobs and abandon their children to go on these; they are definitely addictive and I am now planning for the next one.
Due to this, I am swamped with pictures that I am wading through, getting the details and stories straight.
One thing I have noticed while working on those pictures is that countless old barns have suffered severely during a terrible straight-line wind storm that we had a few months ago; I fear that many will now quickly deteriorate and soon be gone forever.
Kentuckians are far less able to overcome such difficulties now than they were fifty years ago; nobody has any money anymore.
From what little I have thus far gleaned from that document, and even though they have things I haven't yet laid eyes on, they only scratched the surface of what was/is out there to be seen in Casey County.

Very interesting! What a great job in cataloging all of those buildings. Most anything around here that get abandoned gets torn down rather quickly.

Maybe you are blocked because you are not in US or Canada?

I just now finished wading through all the information and found most of it quite interesting.
I did read mention that they recorded GPS coordinates of each location; however, I have not been able to find these coordinates within the article anywhere; are they there and I am just not seeing them ?
I thought as a last resort that I might figure a way to drastically enlarge the topographical map, turn it into a KMZ file, and layer it in Google Earth Pro; however, I fear their blue dots are just big blobs of Magic Marker that will grow as the map grows and end up covering half a county, sort of negating the whole idea.
I did recognize several structures that I have already photographed and I intend to post my photos and information alongside theirs for you guys enjoyment; I have right-to-the-nailhead coordinates with anything I have so my coordinates will at least locate the structures that I have photos of.
I intend to seek out the powers that be and see if I can get the coordinates they claim they recorded; it is beyond me why they didn't include such an important detail within the article.
I also intend to seek out some of the locals mentioned and pump them for information, providing they are not now in the nuthouse, graveyard, or old folks home --- I tend to have that problem more and more lately = anyone that actually knows anything requires a Quija Board to reach them.
