Made in Xara Designer:- The border was made by drawing one hexagon inside another, then subtracting the two. Dragged apart, this gives a hexagon border and the smaller hexagon as two separate shapes. A contour and fill is applied to the border. The border can be duplicated for as many photos as there are. The photos are imported into the drawing/construction space. The smaller hexagon is used as a sort of template to cut out the wanted parts of the photos. Done by sitting the hexagon on top of the wanted part, selecting both together and using the 'Intersect Shapes' function. The photo is made slightly larger than than the border and then sat behind it so that no edges are seen. The background is another photo (the interior of Guildford Castle Keep) that is given a good degree of transparency and set on top of a light-grey background. Slight drop shadow on the writing.

I like the way you used the interior of the castle for the background. The hexagons make it appear that I am looking through a window at the surrounding area.

Thanks - When I was a teenager ...and when my own family was old enough for days out, the castle Keep was just an empty shell. Now it has floors and windows. A bit more of a tourist attraction. Guildford Cathedral can be seen from the top of the keep (centre photo). That was the one Damien didn't want to go into in the film 'The Omen'.
