I am awaiting the arrival of a 2850 version, so would be interested in swapping tales, woes, or tips. cjt

Hi cjt , I have been using an ET-3760 for a few years now without any problems. I think I got it on sale at Costco. It came with two extra bottles of black ink, only recently did I have to start using one of them, so it is very economical, ink-wise. The color tanks are below half now, but should last several months yet. I like having the auto-document feeder, but I don't use it very often.

the new ET-2850 arrived safely yesterday afternoon. It took about 2 hours to get it all set up. Would have been quicker, but, got hung on the installation thing for maybe 20 minutes. The phone app thing that one can use is quite well done. I'm a member of the "That's Good Enough" so the first results of printing tests on matte and photo paper looked just fine to my old eyeballs. No document feeder, but do little of that. And so far, working on WiFi. cjt

Hey, I’m a member of that club too! I’m glad you have it up and running, and from what I read it prints images better than the model I have.

I did try to use the Epson driver instead of the AirPrint driver that Mac OS provides. This did not seem to work well, and in the interest of the KISS rule, for now, I will settle for using the AirPrint driver. I suspect that some color Fidelity is lost. But old eyeballs don't always see that anyway. cjt

Sorry to hear that it doesn't work as well. I am on a windows platform, so can not confirm your results.

Well, I think I solved it. I allowed OSX to setup the printer with AirPrint 3.0. Tested that and it works, but, you have to mess with the paper settings. So, without removing the Printer in System Settings, I downloaded a fresh copy of the Epson Driver for this printer. It comes as a .dmg, which is what Mac apps all do. So, installed and then did this! Add Printer and select the Select Software and find the ET-4850 driver and let it do its thing. OK, next run a test or two, so far so good. Now, the big step. Delete the AirPrint 3.0 Driver Printer that was first added. Test new Default Printer which shows the Epson 12.xx printer driver. Now, when you load in a photo paper into the printer and set it's size and type, according to what the box of paper says it is and the Epson printer agrees, especially as to the paper type. Then!! you get the results you might expect to get WITHOUT having to mess with settings on the printer to get things to work. The printer and the Mac agree and printing takes place without any more messing around. At least so far, will continue to check. SO, apologize for long post, but, just in case some other pilgrim gets lost in this, hoping this will help!] cjt

Footnote the issue is between what AirPrint thinks what paper you are using versus what paper you are really using-according to the Epson Printer! You have to mess with settings on printer. cjt

And I recommend using the Epson 3 printer app for the jpeg that you saved somewhere. It is not maybe the handiest, but, it does have the ability to set the right kind of paper and the quality that you want. PSE even 2024 (just installed) has issues communicating with Epson Printers. As I recall it had issues with Canon printers as well. good luck! cjt

And one more item! There is an app called Epson Print Layout that seems to be available in Europe, here is the link: www.epson.eu/en_EU/apps-software/epson-print-layoutBut is available on iOS! This is simpler than the Photos + or the other things you get from Epson USA. It only does photos, but, really much better. It does NOT do bells and whistles, just prints photos. cjt
