Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. The rules are rather simple.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.

This sentinel welcomes train riders to the Goose Hollow neighborhood, home to the soccer stadium (background) and Portland's best Reuben sandwich at the Goose Hollow Inn. Thanks for the theme Sepiana!

After last week's rains it was nice to get out for a bit on this gorgeous summer-like day. This is a statue of President Garfield......one of 7 presidents to summer at the Jersey shore.

Carved from the stump of a silver maple, this 11-foot-high sculpture recreates a warrior from the 8,000-figure terra cotta army buried with the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. As the artist said: “Most people carve bears and eagles (from stumps) but I didn’t want to do that. I wanted to do something different.” Tony

One from my older files. I shot this at Forest Lawn in Glendale, CA. Moses' name means "drawn out". Pharaoh's daughter saw the baby Moses and drew him out of the Nile river, saving his life through God's providence. So this represents either Moses and his mother Jochebed or with Pharoah's daughter. I'm not sure which one.

Well, this is hardly an old-school arty statue but I think it is well done. Black Wolf is a newish development in the City of Lethbridge. The developers put some quite attractive, hand-carved statues at three or four of the access points. This is the main one. From a company YouTube video: Watch as 540,000 lbs of statues join the BlackWolf Wolfpack here in Lethbridge.
These statues were designed by Aaron Barr, a computer animator who has worked on major movies including the new Star Wars film.
Framework Animations in Lethbridge 3D prints the models creating a template which gets sent to China. The statues are then made with hand tools in China, sent by barge to Vancouver, train to Calgary then finally trucked down to Lethbridge.

At the same place! i.ibb.co/JnvPf6d/2nd-statue.jpgThis fellow stands about 4 feet tall. It is placed about 15 feet away from the other statue that I posted. There is an interesting story about these two statues found here: [New art sculpture installed in garden in Jefferson Park - Nadig Newspapers - Northwest Side Local Newspapers](https://nadignewspapers.com/new-art-sculpture-installed-in-garden-in-jefferson-park/) Inquiring minds want to know, right?? cjt
