What do you think would be the best crop for this Rocky Mountain photo? I'm finally getting around to processing them.......

I think I would cut off most of the water. It doesn't add anything as it is too brown.

I think a 16x9 crop is the right direction along with bringing the subject so it stands out a little more.

Frank, that crop looks good. I'm not a fan of the peak being centered, but in this case, there is no option. I tried cutting more of the right side off - to try and move the peak over - but that looked bad.
I like that you cropped just where the 'good part' of the water ends. The bottom part of the photo contains some 'funky' water not worth saving. I think it needs the 'brown water' to give it something to do with the browns in the upper part of the photo

They both work for me! Always love seeing these cropping questions.

I like blackmutt's pano I think a 16x9 crop is the right direction along with bringing the subject so it stands out a little more. Frank, did you add clouds to the top? I like the extra space above the peak. I was thinking of more of a panorama. Agree.

I like the pano too! Too back I can't get rid of the ground, but I do have other versions of the shot where the mountain is not centered. I would like to get out and get the water/fall shots around here, BUT, the forest fires have driven the cougars, bears, badgers, deer and elk into town, so I'm a bit leery. The bears, especially, have had a hard time this year, and I'd be a tasty morsel......
