I do 'focus stacking', and opening 7 images, copying, cutting and pasting each into a new layer is really tedious. But Elements doesn't have an 'open as layer'. Is there a way to open one or more images as layers? Maybe a script or add-in Action?

Hi jimh, welcome to PSE&M!
You can give Elements a helping hand by using this add-on -- Elements+ ($12). It has a File Piler script. I believe it will do what you want.

Hi jim, and welcome!
You can also select your images in the organizer, then click Editor. This will launch the Elements editor and load your images into the Photo Bin. You can then simply drag them into a single file and they show up as individual layers.

D&D does cut the time down. I'll probably get Elements+ if it actually opens a group of files as layers.

Dragging and dropping from the Project (Photo) Bin onto the workspace is a good alternative. However, a word of caution. There was a problem with this feature in some versions of Elements.

Hi Everybody! I'm Andrei Doubrovski, the developer of Elements+ And this is my first post on PSE&M, btw Elements+ has a dedicated focus stacking script: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgoUF1DA_T4So, using the "File Piler" isn't necessary.

Hi Andrei, welcome to PSE&M! Glad you joined us.
Thanks for the information! I do have Elements+ but had not realized it had a focus stacking script.
