It was raining pretty hard the other night and I took a picture of the lights reflected in the puddles on the top of the garage. Just converted to B/W. Know it needed something so added a silhouette from StockSolo........does it work?

Interesting perspective on the parking garage and good idea to convert to B&W. I think the person works fine, but the person seems too tall when compared to the height of the street/garage lights.

Perhaps a little too large but otherwise it works very well.

Helen - nice job on changing the perspective. In my view I would crop, resize the man, Change the lighting and provide a destination to add to the story.

The scene is good in both B&W and colour but yes, the walker is big for the apparent distance away.

Hi Helen Yes it works. As mentioned by others, the person needs to be resized. Parking lot light poles are 15-20 feet tall. Using that as a guide, on a separate layer I used a straight line to represent the height and then resized the umbrella man accordingly. I cropped using the diagonal “walkway” as a leading line and placed the umbrella man using the golden section. Removed the background to add a little mystery.

I appreciate everyone's input. I like Frank's idea to add a destination but also like Pete's edit without one. Great idea to determine the size of the figure, Pete. I remembered that I have two pictures that I have taken of people walking in the rain. When I rework this I hope I can use one of them so that the composite is made up of images that I have taken. Will post back when I have come up with the new edits.

Like the concept Helen. Using ideas from Frank, Pet and Karen is made some minor changes and additions: - All highlights at the edges were removed - A black vignette was added to soften the scene edge (fade to black) - I used a new clipart person as it was easier than using the same one you started with...agree that the person needed to be smaller...my person is still too large - The person's shadow as changed to reflect the position relative to the nearest light source .. it was painted with a soft brush - Not sure of the shadow shape as I am rusty on drawing single-source-light shadows...middle school art classes were 65 years ago!! - Upon reflection (no pun intended), the person is still far too large relative to the parking stalls.

Still not sure if I have the figure the correct height but I did use a picture of my own for this one.
