Howard, that's just the sort of image I had in mind when I think about this quote. I have many images that have come from playing around with PS, sadly I have no idea how to recreate any of them. To get something like this sooc is such a happy accident. Helen, great timing on capturing the lightning strikes and fireworks, you must have a twitchy finger! Clive, so the rail platform image is sort of like a double exposure? So much movement in the moose photo, whatever you did the results are intriguing. mart44 , hope you can find something to add to this thread.

Many years ago, a wrong turn on the streets of Adelaide led me into this scene, I clearly remember taking this photo and the fear I felt that the official photographer would come after me and demand that I delete it. It was a one shot wonder that I'm claiming as my 'happy accident'.

Nice one jackscrap. Not sure she has any right to stop you in Australia, public domain and all. In fact I think she has a bit of a cheek! But I know what you mean, you never know how people will react.

Many of my vector images would qualify under the 'Happy accident' category. Photographically, the only one I can think of is this one that was shown here before. It's the one where the Sun caught the lens in the early morning. I almost discarded it at the time but pleased I didn't..

I’m not sure if you would call this a happy accident or not...It is certainly the result of my doggedness not to give up after having many accidents along the way - does that count! LOL. I have done double exposures before in PSE but having upgraded my Affinity Suite of programmes I wanted to try doing one using Affinity Photo. So I went in search of a video showing how to... I came across one on YouTube - NOT I hasten to add, one of Affinities own official ones.. Unfortunately the video in question had no vocal instructions nor was there a transcript so I had to try to pick my way through it using visuals alone. Not an easy task as I was to discover. I have been at this for what seems like ages now and I believe the result you see here is my third or fourth try at this Double Exposure with Grey and Colour. Images from Pexels and Hiclipart.

Not quite sure if this counts as a happy accident but I'll post it anyway as it doesn't fit any other category! I was parked close to a large inflatable Santa today but in a blizzard of snow - thinking of getting a shot for the Weekly Theme but not really wanting to get out of the car so tried to shoot Santa through the window. The camera refused to focus on anything except the rapidly accumulating snow on the windscreen. Finally decided to get out of the car and take the shot (very quickly) in the blizzard. You can see the result hereBack home I was going to delete the windscreen shots but did try salvaging a pattern (by flipping horizontal and then vertical and setting blend mode to darker color). Not sure where I'll use it but I did find it interesting enough to keep. Tony

Lillias, I think your dogged persistence has paid dividends, I love your results. It's all about having the right attitude about the mistakes that we may make, you obviously weren't meant to get it right the first time!

Hi Tony, I was smiling as soon as I saw 'parked close to an inflatable santa' in a snow blizzard no less... I like what you've done with the windscreen shot, could be played with in the pattern making feature in PS.
