I just returned from vacation last night and imagine my delight when I viewed the entries for IOW this morning...man oh man, what a decision! All of the entries were wonderful. For what it is worth, all of the entries are well deserving, but here are my picks for the week.

Madagascar Giant Day Gecko by Simone: You all know how I love a superb animal/reptile picture...and this one is just perfect. Love the simplicity of the black background and how it brings out the colors and the details!

The tallest by Madame: Wowzer, what an image! Perfect perspective and magnificent details. This image is very dimensional!

One of my abstract creations, from EV days by squirrel2014: I love abstracts and the colors and the lines in this image are just eye catching. I also absolutely LOVE the presentation of this beautiful image!

Swallowtail and Iris by dandc: This captures the very essence of summer to me. Love the image as a whole and the painterly look just makes this a beautiful work of art!

And finally, what you have been waiting for....(drumroll)......the IOW is....
Old Grist Mill. Guard on Duty by drjoerogers: I can say so much about this image....the perspective, the leading lines, the textures, everything just works so perfectly together! I can see this in a large frame on a wall! Perfectly composed and just so beautiful!

Dear Chesney and friends,
Thank you so much for including my image in the IOW with so many talented contributors.

Now for the really great stuff I'm celebrating today:
The birth of Lacey Cathryn, 7 lb.,11 oz., at 10:30 AM today. This is our ninth grandchild. Both mother and baby are doing well. Papa ( that's me ) is delighted.
The third anniversary of my successful open-heart surgery. I feel great!
And lastly, a special thanks to dandc for helping me through that uncomfortable recovery. Thanks, Dan, and congratulations on your IOW selection.
PSE&M sure feels like home today.
