That's a very good deal! And it works as a plug-in for Elements, Photoshop and Lightroom. I have it and can highly recommend it.

Just a warning
This does not work with Elements 2024 - On1 is aware of the issue.
In Lightroom - Edit in does not work - you need to use the File>Plugin Extras menu.
The Photoshop plugin did not install and I had to do a manual install.
I Have found that the program does not close when launched as a plugin and you return to the host.
The standalone appears to work.

fotofrank, I installed it early today. My experience was similar to yours. Very frustrating! - It doesn't install as a plug-in in Elements 2024. - Lightroom>Edit is a no-go. - Had to manually install the plug-in Photoshop 2024. Not working properly. - It works only as a standalone.

Re ON1 2023 I ran the installer for this file on my Windows laptop on the 18th of this month and it installed automatically as a plug-in in my copies of PSE 2024, 2020 and 15. It works in all three versions although I find it a bit slow and as Frank has already commented I also found that the programme does not close when you return to the host programme and has to be closed manually.
I have also successfully installed this plug-in in Affinity Photo. The method of installation is different from PSE requiring manual interaction but it is up and running. Again I find it a bit slow and there is the same problem that it has to be closed manually on returning to the host programme.
And of course it works as a standalone.
I mention this only as a matter of interest.

This is the preference you can change in Effects to close the program on exit. It needs to be un-checked. This worked for me.

On1 has been giving away various versions of "Effects" over the years and I have several.
Unlike many programs, several versions can be installed at the same time and called up at will.
One huge annoyance I have fought for years and on several different machines is that, whether using as stand-alone or calling it up from another program, once I get finished and save my image, the program will crash --- EVERY TIME and in every version.
I have given up years ago on getting help with the situation from On1.
Sometimes, after the crash, it is closed and all I have to do is re-open it again for the next use; but, in most cases, it requires calling up Task Manager to kill it and sometimes it even requires a forced shut-down of the machine.
In every crash instance, my new image does manage to get saved and is not corrupted or anything.
However, it is such a huge annoyance to use that I have to really want something badly before I go to the trouble.
With my experiences, no way would I pay money for anything of their's.
