In PSE 2020 when looking for another brush set I expand my brushes and am able to see the full name of the brushes as per the first screen shot below which makes it so much easier to find the set I am looking for.
BUT in PSE 2024 they appear to have changed this so that now when expanding my brushes to look for another set I see a truncated view as per the second screen shot which does not allow me to see the full name of the brush sets. I find this most frustrating and wondered/hoped that someone may know if there is a way to change this.

Lillias,
I have PSE 2024 running on two computers; I checked the Brushes via both the Preset Manager and the Tools Panel. I don't have the problem you describe.
You could try this via the Tools Panel.
1. Click on the Brush Preset Picker to open it. 2. Place your cursor on the top right corner of the dialog box. (The cursor will turn into a double-headed one.) 3. Drag the corner outward to expand the dialog area.
You could also try running Elements as administrator. It seems to fix many glitches Elements develops.
1. Right-click on the Elements shortcut and select "Run as administrator". 2. Do some testing around. 3. If the problem went away, close Elements. 4. Open Elements again but this time do it from your standard user account.

Lillias, It's nearly impossible to see the right hand corner in black mode, but not in white mode. How did you get it view vertically. I can only get it to expand horizontally. Sepiana, I tried as administrator, but it didn't work for vertically.

Thank you for responding Sepiana. I have tried both your suggestions but unfortunately no change. The first one simply allows me to drag out the dialog box horizontally. In PSE 2020 I could drag it both horizontally and vertically. I posted in the Adobe forum and on checking just now to see if I had a reply I found the following response from Greg_S. Community Expert. “Yes, there has been an unfortunate change since PSE 2020 in the way the dialog can be expanded. Not only is the setname dropdown menu narrower, but the brush set dialog can only be expanded to fill half the screen rather than the full screen.
This is not something that bothers me, but I know a number of users do not like the change in behavior. I know of no way to change this.”
I am running Windows Home Sepiana and I see you are running Windows Pro which makes me wonder if that's the reason you are not experiencing this problem on your computers. But that's only a surmise on my part as I can't think of anything else.
I just don't understand why software developers change things which weren't broken. All they succeed in doing is annoying their customers.

I have Window 10 Pro, and I also can only go horizontally.

It is most frustrating Moto. Here is a screen shot in the light instead of the dark UI. The part that you can see running vertically is because I clicked on the downward facing arrow to obtain the list of all the brushes I have installed.

As you learnt from your visit to the Adobe forum, this is a change Adobe made in PSE 2024. Good thing you started this thread! I had never noticed we could no longer expand the Brush Preset Picker dialog vertically, but only horizontally. Living and learning!

Although I don’t like it, I can live with not being able to expand the Brush Set Picker vertically but I REALLY don’t like not being able to see the full Brush set names in the dropdown menu.

I just tested my copy of PSE 2024. The list of brushes appears vertical and very narrow whether its in dark or light mode. It's a shame we can't see the full file names! Kind regards Chris PS There is a convoluted work around which might help a little. Open the brushes panel and using the 3 dots select the preset manager. Choose brushes and click the 3 dots to see the expanded view. Click on the brush you want and hopefully it will be available when you next open the brush tool.

Thank you for this Chris. The Preset Manager is not a place I visit very often not having the need to so I would never have thought of this. As you say it is a convoluted work around and one which interrupts my work flow (which needs all the help it can get) and if they had left things alone would not be necessary. A retrograde step in my opinion.
