From RAW had to change from 16 to 8 bit before could duplicate image That sounds strange to me, Lillias. I know it needs to be done if you want to use the filter gallery. Were you using PE or Affinity? It is perfectly fine to just work on one of the images. The sky you chose fits well with the tones in your mountain edit.

I am using PSE 2024. Re the 16 to 8 bit thing - I went through the process again in case I had done something wrong. Having completed my RAW settings and back in the Advanced part of PSE I wanted to duplicate that layer. Firstly as it was a locked background layer it wouldn’t allow me to choose Duplicate from the right click drop down menu. I had first to unlock the layer. In trying to unlock the layer I got the message as seen in my screen shot below.... Just had a thought to try this in my previous version PSE 2020 and I did not have this problem with it at all! I have to say between one thing and another I am beginning to be not too impressed with version 2024.
Edit: Had another thought and tried it in version 15 and it worked the same as 2024! I don't know what's going on.

Wonder if others with 2024 have found that? Definitely strange.

I may be wrong (and, if I am, someone please correct me) but it looks like you brought this RAW file into the Editor in PSE 2024 as a 16-bit file. Elements offers limited support for these files. See . . . Working with 16-bit Files -- Some ThoughtsAs to PSE 15 and PSE 2020, check the Depth setting at the bottom of the ACR Converter in these two versions. What do you have? Then, check the same setting in PSE 2024 ACR Converter. What do you have? NOTE:
You can also change the Depth while in the Editor. Go to Image > Mode > Select . . . 8-bits/Channel

I also have PSE 2024. I had no problems doing a layer duplication in this RAW file; no error messages popped up either. Before I do these checks can I ask a question please...These 4 files for this challenge downloaded on my PC as .jpg files. So are they RAW or jpg?

Done the checks you suggested and you have hit the nail right on the head Sepiana. What is it they say - 'A little knowledge is a dangerous thing' and my knowledge is not as good as it should be...anyway thanks again I will look out for that in future.

All 4 files downloaded for me as RAW files (.RW2). I feel so stupid and I’m sorry to have caused all this confusion...I re-visited the link for these images and know where I went wrong and have been able to download the RAW versions and not jpg’s. Talk about senior moments!

I was hoping you'd step in here, Sepiana. Thank you! Don't feel stupid Lillias. This issue about 16 bit images actually came up not that long ago with Pat. I had forgotten all about it. Glad you now have the RAW files.

Used the same RAW settings as before. Created the panorama within PSE 2024 Applied the High Pass filter on duplicate and blended with Linear Light this time. Replaced sky with Long Exposure sky from MixPixBox Clipped to a mask of my own.

I love how the mask enhances the presentation, Lillias. You are so good at using masks. Love that you are creating your own!

Helen beat me on posting a B&W and hers looks really good. So I inverted my B&W to give an infrared type of look and accentuated the texture and moon using a levels adjustment. i.ibb.co/BLXQv5F/mountains.jpg

I haven't really explored infrared photography, Karen. However, I do remember Frank sharing some nice ones. I did some googling of infrared images of the moon and came across one included in this article. I think your submission works well.
