Thank you everyone who posted pictures for me to judge. This is my first time judging IOW and I hope I will do this job justice.
After much pondering, I have narrowed it down (in no special order) to three images.
Tranquil by dandc This capture has beautiful lighting with an interesting foreground leading the eye right into the picture and to this majestic animal. Common goldeneyes by pontiac 1940 Clive was able to capture seven birds flying without any blurring. It is often difficult to get even one flying bird without some blur. The D.O.F is making the birds stand out even showing their eyes. The positioning of the birds is also perfect allowing them to continue flying forward. Remembering When by Jim They say to take a portrait pictures of either older people or children and they must be right because the eyes looking out of this bearded craggy face make for a great portrait. The, I think, it is called the painterly effect just adds to the overall picture. The job of judging was even more difficult than I anticipated as there were many more wonderful pictures posted and it was hard not to choose them all!!!!

Thank you for judging, Kathy. As someone who has had numerous images added to our galleries it was particularly interesting to see the work that stood out to you. Wonderful selections. Dan, Clive and Jim, it will be my pleasure to add your beautiful work to the 2024 Gallery later this evening.
