I have decided to move over to Creative Cloud/light room (more on that below) and was wondering if anyone knows of a forum similar to PSE&M for that software plus a recommended book.
The thing I am dreading is having to relearn how to use a new software. So ......
•is there an equivalent to PSE&M ie a helpful, supportive and knowledgeable forum for people at the beginning of learning how to use the software?
•is there an equivalent to the Scott Kelby/Matt Kloskowski books on PSE. I used their book on PSE 11 and found it generally very helpful in getting me started and would like something similar (and similarly readable and manageable ) for CS and LR
As regards the background to changing......
.......... we have recently downsized our house and this had freed up some cash which allows me to replace my 5+ year-old laptop.
The replacement (not yet received) is a separate tower and high spec monitor, which includes one year's 'free' subscription to CC/PS. So this has prompted me to make the move.

Chris, I am not a Lightroom user but I have heard good things about Victoria Brampton. You can find out more about her here.

Thanks Helen - just had a quick look and is lots of good stuff there. I have also had a quick look at the adobe site. It doesn't look very user friendly as there doesn't seem to be any organisation of the questions asked in each part . Although I did see that there is a beginners section where no question is too simple so I think I will be using that a lot

I can highly recommend the Scott Kelby book. When I started with LR5 I bought his books for LR5 and have learned a ton that otherwise I would have not figured out by myself.

That's great Simone - Because of my good experience with the SK/MK PSE 11 book I am pre-disposed to get his stuff again - but always good to have a personal recommendation

Matt Kloskowski has Lightroom video course "the Ultimate Guide to Lightroom CC (Lr6). Info on it can be found at www.on1.com/photos/the-ultimate-guide-to-lightroom-bundle/ Part of the bundle includes using Lightroom and Photoshop together and also use with Photo Suite - if you have that. Being a visual (both reading and seeing on video) and hands on sort of person - I have found these to be very helpful. I also have Kelby's book. ~bruce.

Here's another book you may want to check out: Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for Photographers: Classroom in a Book by Jan Kabili. The official training workbook from Adobe. Adobe Press.
I really enjoy my subscription to Adobe CC and hope you will too. agg

Thanks agg.
Yes ... I'm hoping that having used elements for almost two years - and so got some sort of understanding of layers and some other aspects - that I won't be on such a steep learning curve as i otherwise would be (fingers crossed:))

I've had LR CC and PS subscription for 3 months now. Not being a professional photographer that edits for printing I find that PSE 13 with it's raw editing capability plus topaz filters does most everything I need and is in my comfort zone. I do like Photo Shop for doing special effects. I purchased Scott Kelby's book "Lightroom CC for Digital Photographers" and found it easy to follow and very helpful. Even though I don't use LR that much, for the Creative Cloud subscription @ $10 a month it's a keeper. Good luck and I think it's worth a try for anyone ... Dave

Thanks Dave - I have been receiving encouragement to move to CC for some time and the ability to upgrade kit (not all yet arrived) - part of which included a year's subscription to CC clinched it - just hoping it doesn't take me too long to get to grips with all th enew stuff
