Way back in olden times when I was a kid, I had this neighbor across the holler from where we lived who had flunked a couple grades and I had caught up with him.
He was the sneakenest, lyingest, thievingest kid in school; however, he had a most unique hobby; I guess he had to steal to sponsor his hobby.
He had two long chicken-wire covered sheds/pens, one full of Grouse and the other full of Ring-Necked Pheasants.
About the only thing that stuck in my mind was that at a certain time, he had to separate the pheasants, else they would kill each other; I don't remember the particulars, just that they would go at each other like fighting roosters until only one was left alive.

They are beautiful birds, love how you captured the pair together.

Beautiful birds. They have a sort of regal look about them.

I like how you photographed them together and then got separate shots - that male sure is pretty - but then again, in the bird world, aren't they all.
