Howard, the guy in green looks very comfortable with you taking his picture. How did you approach him?

Another good drop-it-in-your-pocket choice would have been a Jew's Harp; I've got one of those in a drawer around here somewhere; I had one of those when I was a young kid, Buckskin. It was fun at first but after banging my front teeth with its prong several times it soon fell out of my favor.

"Following Papa" I've passed on many individual facial "street" shots over the years (feeling shy about invading their privacy I guess?) but here's one I shot from a bridge one time that I felt free to capture for obvious reasons. The prominent mysterious leading line caught my attention also.

It was a weekend when I was in a bit of a photo frenzy with so much to take in and feeling like a tourist with no inhibitions I just asked "May I take your photo, you are very photogenic". He seemed pleased if a bit surprised to be asked. I didn't really wait for a reply. It was the same with the b&w. He was sitting next to us with his dog at an ice cream parlour. You know how dogs look like their owners...this was so true! But DoF meant the dog was out of focus so I cropped it out.

Surprise! This was taken at an anniversary of the local public market. Part of the celebration was a costumed stilt walker who greeted customers. When this family exited the market, the mother gave the stilt walker a heads-up about her young son coming out. The moment captured is when the young boy was surprised to see a very tall person. One thing I like about this image is the eye-lines that were captured

Nice photo that isn't an everyday opportunity; that girl (or guy) could almost walk up and look in hmca's bedroom window... well. maybe if she stood on a bucket.
BUT, what immediately took my eye is that there is at least one person in that town with enough good sense to drive a decent vehicle;Where are the photos of that Galaxie 500 ?

Way back when I first started packing a "Big Girl Camera" and taking photos, I was at a big antique machinery show and threw up my camera, unannounced, and snapped a photo of three old gals carrying big buckets of Apples destined to be squished into Apple Cider.
From one of them, I never before saw such an ill look; I mean a look that would wither an Oak plank or stop a bull in it's tracks; a look that said "I would like to stick that camera up his ... well you get the picture.
I immediately said "I never saw such an ill look; surely you can beat that"; and her, and her two companions, all three got tickled and so weak that they had to set down their Apple buckets and get their breath; and, to this day, they are as friendly and photogenic as can be and always greet me with a big smile; and, none of the three will ever forget our first encounter.
With everybody and their brothers and sisters snapping pictures left and right, and worse yet ... taking videos of anything and everything and running home to dump them on FacePlace, people had best not be too stand-offish about having their photo taken as it is going to get taken anyway, whether they like it or not.

Here is my 1966 Galaxie 500 SHARP - SHARP - SHARPThat makes me want to get in and go somewhere.
As for the stilts photo, extreme left, maroon, against the curb, that looks an awful lot like a 1966 Galaxie to me --- or very close.

Thanks Maurice FauxtotoYou photos are all public places and you photo fit well. This type of photography takes place exclusively in public areas, albeit not necessarily on the street. You show people doing people things in public. Thanks Clive
