Came across this Thoreau quote today and liked it so found a "path" photo from last October. He also wrote" I have met with but one or two persons in the course of my life who understood the art of Walking, that is, of taking walks—who had a genius, so to speak, for sauntering, which word is beautifully derived “from idle people who roved about the country, " I walk quite a lot but sauntering more describes my style.

Sauntering describes more what I do when out for a walk. That looks like a great place to go for a saunter with the dog. There is something calming and peaceful about a quiet walk in nature.

That looks like a wonderful scene to saunter in, and take the occasional photo.

Beautifully illustrated, Clive. There is something calming and peaceful about a quiet walk in nature. That looks like a wonderful scene to saunter in, and take the occasional photo. Thanks all. We all benefit from the outdoors. I love going to the river valley. Costs me a few $$ for gasoline but it is way more interesting than going to the gym. I am definitely a saunter-er. Jackie ... ha ha. Yes "the occasional photo" or a few hundred.
