Sunday_19-November-2023Henry - Muddy as a Pig
The photos don't do justice to just how wet and muddy he really
was.

Poor Henry. Have never seen him look so bad. Think we need to see the after picture.

Is Henry practicing some sort of insect protection?
Maybe so; but there ain't many insects stirring around here in November.
He just does that to annoy me; he knows I ain't going to dirty up my saddle blanket on such a muddy hide and it would take me the better part of two days to get him cleaned off enough.
He gets plenty muddy quite often; but, this occasion was worse than most.
He roamed off with the saddle on a few days ago while I was busy making some adjustments on something; I looked and he was heading straight for the muddiest place around; I caught him just before he went down and wallered with my saddle on.
I have had a few to do that over the years and he is probably one that has; I have had a few of them try that trick and me in the saddle = dig the spurs in deep and that usually gets their attention; I don't need a 1200-pound horse on top of me in a mud-hole.

Love the story, buckskin. When I was a kid, I had a horse named Danny. He would try to scrap me off his back by rubbing me down the fence. It never worked as I would pull my leg up and over to the other side. He was only scraping himself along that fence. I also rode him in the Christmas parade.
