As title if anyone can help, often when I open image in Raw it does it, the only way to recover from it is to reboot laptop and start over again which may take several attempts.

First thing I'd check is do you have sufficient memory for handling large files, taking into account other apps etc that may be open and using ram?

PSE 2020 & 2024 now crashes when I open NEF files |

Na that unfortunely didn't work, Sapiana, I'll uninstall and see if it still does it on the reinstall.

Na that unfortunely didn't work, Sapiana, Jim, what a pity! Let's try a manual installation of ACR (the latest update -- v16.4). Follow the directions below posted on Adobe Support Community. Manually Install Adobe Camera RAW (ACR)---Nicer to Look atNOTE:ACR v16.4 works just fine in PSE 2024. There are no problems! Just make sure that Elements is closed while you are doing this manual installation.
Once you have completed the installation, open Elements. Go to Help > About Plug-In > Camera Raw. You should see this . . . |
