I'm hoping to get the conversation started for you, Pete. I know nothing about lighting. I can only say that I find the second image the most interesting. Hopefully, members who have a better understanding of the challenge will offer some advice.

this week's challenge, Shape with Light Peter. Regarding Shape with Light, I much prefer the lime for its simplicity. It has a definitive shape and its shape emphasized by the light gradient across the fruit. Clive

I’d go with the lime too as the single light is good for bringing out the texture of the skin as well as the shape of the fruit.

I couldn't find this challenge here, so am a bit confused. Are you starting a new challenge with this thread? Anyway, I also think the lime is being shaped nicely by the light source(s) with the bit of reflective light on the lower left giving added dimension to it. As far as the 2nd and 3rd images go, I'd choose #2 for eye appeal and dynamism. Just my 2¢ worth.

I'm also in favor of the lime. I think the lighting emphasizes the texture and shape of it.

The lime has it for me, lovely texture and colour, though maybe the deep shadow is a little too dark and loses all detail as a result. It could be my device.
