Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. The rules are rather simple.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else.
- Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation.

In full transparency - when I took this I wasn't thinking of the weekly photo theme. That said, this was just taken yesterday. Just a little touchup in Lightroom and some dynamic contrast in On1.  |

The examples of brick and stonework are pretty close to infinite. But these two photos are of two of the most unusual I have seen so far. This is Portage Park, the area of Chicago where I live now. This is the main gate and a nearby example of the stonework cjt |

Lots of brick and stonework in town here as - like Chicago - there was a fire and a resultant by-law requiring brick or stone instead of wood. Some of the brick facades do need attention like this one which I only realised when looking at the photo that it appears to be held together with chicken wire!  Second is part of the town hall which is in much better shape - a very dull day so I had to replace the sky to brighten things up a bit  Tony |

The Drewry House is an early twentieth-century, two-storey building situated on the north bank of the Crowsnest River near Cowley, Alberta. Constructed of locally quarried, rough-faced sandstone, it features a hipped roof, plain exterior, and window bays on the west and south facades.  |

Two photos from earlier today - our local church wall faced with flint. Attractive and waterproof. Dennis Dennis, what an architectural gem you captured! Great idea adding a close-up shot of the flint work; it shows its attractive design. |

Andy, the choice of portrait-orientation is perfect for this subject; it follows the vertical lines of the stone steps. Thanks for acknowledging when this photo was taken! |
