Lots of brick and stonework in town here as - like Chicago - there was a fire and a resultant by-law requiring brick or stone instead of wood. Some of the brick facades do need attention like this one which I only realised when looking at the photo that it appears to be held together with chicken wire! Second is part of the town hall which is in much better shape - a very dull day so I had to replace the sky to brighten things up a bit Tony, amazing brickwork! Even if it is hanging by a thread (chicken wire). Great use of symmetry in the composition of the 2nd shot! ( I love symmetry.) |

Frank, brickwork enhanced by Mother Nature -- green moss (algae?) on the sidewalk. This subject asked for a close-up shot and you delivered it. |
