I have a small group of people that I e-mail photos to, including the photos as "inserted" rather than as attachments.
Doing thus is much handier for the recipients as they can see the photos right in the body of the message rather than having to download them before they can see them.
They still have the option to download the photos, plus the much more convenient means of seeing them.
I have been doing this with Google g-mail for ages --- until now --- stupid Google no longer provides the simple "insert photo" option.
Now, they want me to upload the photos to some "cloud" foolishness and then post them from there, adding who knows how many steps and much aggravation to something that used to be very simple and quick.
Thus, I am seeking another e-mail handler that will allow me to "insert" photos like I used to be able to.
Can someone point me in the direction of a good e-mail handler such as I seek ?
Thanks.

Buckskin, I use G-mail and am still able to insert photos from my photos so the recipients can immediately see them when they open my emails. I did a quick search and here's one suggestion I came across:
Question "How do I insert pictures in the body of the email instead of attaching them?"
After you have composed your message in the "New Message" pop-up window [mine says "compose"], go to the bottom-most bar of the window. There will be 6 icons on the right of the "Send" button. Click on the 6th icon — the "insert photo" icon. An "Insert Photo" dialogue box will open up, allowing you to click "upload" to browse or drag photos/files to select the picture(s) of your choice. On the bottom right of the box, make sure the "Insert images" option is set to "Inline" not "As attachment." [ I don't see/need that option when using my Gmail]. You might want to try that before changing your entire email program. Just a suggestion.

For ages, I was able to do exactly as described; now, trying three different browsers and two different g-mail accounts, I can only get the option pictured below.Nothing about this allows me to be able to do as I once could.

have you tried this in the last couple days ? Yes. I tried it right after reading your post yesterday and it worked fine for me. As lillias mentioned, after you click on the "insert photo" icon, click on "upload".

I went back and made a test run a few minutes ago and it worked like a charm. Great news. Not sure what we got that silly message for a couple of days. Gmail has been pretty sold for many years. When I was working and writing reports I started using Gmail so I could email drafts to myself and they were safely stored in the Gmail "cloud" and accessible if I had a wreck at home. Never happened but it was reassuring.
