Today I installed a free pdf editor that has good reviews. It can edit text and images within pdf's. It can convert pdf to word and word to pdf. It can also fill forms, combine, split and compress pdf documents. It seems promising. Others may find this programe useful. www.pdfgear.com/Kind regards Chris  |

Thanks Chris, it is certainly worth knowing about. I only tried one experiment, PDF to Word. While it seemed to do the conversion ok, the font was quite different. I’ve no idea if that is to expected or not, but the PDF file was created from a Word file, so I knew what the original font had been.

FYI: it may be entirely coincidental, but after installing pdfgear Acrobat Reader started hanging up regularly. I uninstalled pdfgear and Reader began behaving properly again.
