I am having problems viewing some of the images on this forum, both in posts and in the user galleries (including my own) I have a feeling it may only be images uploaded via cubeupload. Sometimes I see a tiny grey square which if I click on it will occasionally load an image at cubeupload but will invariably display either an error message or will just freeze and show nothing, but sometimes all I see is the title of a picture, the comments underneath but just a blank line above where the picture should be. Sometimes if I leave the page up for long enough (5 minutes or more!) then the pictures will eventually appear but I obviously don't have the time for that!
This has only recently started to happen. Can anyone explain it or make a suggestion for how I can see all the images again.

It might help if you could point out one or two. I have noticed a few images that take a long time to load, and assumed that the link was to a very large file, but didn't investigate at the time. It may bear looking into.

I don't think the problem is on our end. CubeUpload has been up and down today. As of this writing, it is up. You can use this site to check if a given site is down.

That's interesting because I sometimes have the same small square as Bayla describes which may, or may not, develop into a downloading photo. I had just assumed it was a 'quirk' of my computer  |

Throughout the day the only problem I had seeing the images uploaded to CubeUpload in either a thread or in the Individual User Gallery was that at first there would be a blank space where the image should have been and then slowly (painstakingly slowly) the image would be displayed. I never saw any "tiny grey square". I believe this was caused by their site being up and down at different times.
Sometime ago, a similar problem -- "a small square all that's shown instead of the image that has been posted" -- was reported when viewing images uploaded to postimage.org. The problem was traced back to their site being up and down.
Not always seeing image I am no expert here but I think what you see (small squares, gray squares, or blank spaces) is related to which web browser you are using. I use IE11.
As a side note -- The same would happen when the Pixentral site was acting up. Some reported a little square; others reported a blank space.

And I see a mixture of both! I'm using Firefox, but if it happens again I'll check out other browsers to compare. Thanks for the explanation, Sepiana. I had been thinking it was all to do with my new HD - at least I know now it's not a 'quirk of my computer' Bayla |
