Hello Everyone, Today I have a video from InfoPuppet on how to make a Sun Ray Effect on your pictures. This is a real nice way to add that little extra something to make your pictures pop out a little more. Here is the tutorial-link I made this one a while back, but it was from this tutorial.
So grab your camera and take some sky pictures. Or use some pictures from your archives and put some sun rays on them. But most of all, just have fun!

This looks like an interesting challenge. I need to find an image that the effect would look good on. I really like yours!

Verber, I'm sorry, I could not get this tutorial to work. Tried with different images, and it looked best when there was a lot of white in the background, as there is in the tutorial. But all I really got were streaks, not rays. Maybe it requires more painting skill than I possess
This one is made with a tut by Matt Kloskowski called "Enhancing the sun's rays". It can be found on the PET site. I remember a tut that we all followed years ago that had a very similar look to your tutorial, and was very simple without requiring painting anything, but I cannot find it anymore.
Picture taken by a friend of mine at Lake Konstanz in Germany.

Very interesting technique. Alot of times, it's all about the photo used, but I think it works well for that train. I like the framed effect, too.

I'm sorry Rita that you had a hard time with the tutorial. But the one you did looks very nice. Good job! I think I remember the tutorial you are taking about. It used the selection tool to make a sun ray shape, and then fill it with white. Then lower the opacity of it. I don't know for sure if that was the one you were thinking of.
BillieJean, Your train turned out great with the light rays. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your kind comments. I can't take credit for the original photo though, I got it free from photovaco.com. I should have stated that when I entered the challenge but I'm afraid in my excitement at putting something up on the forum I forgot!!! lol
