Is there a way of getting automatic email notification identifying responses/updates to threads I may wish to follow or have posted please.

Yes. Go to Profile on the top menu, choose Edit Profile, then Notifications, then scroll down to Particpated - you can choose when you want to be notified in the drop-down menu.

There is one other option for following threads you may find handy. If you are interested in a thread but have not participated in it, you can click Options and then Bookmark. A new button will appear in the top row titled Bookmarks; when there is activity in any thread you have bookmarked a bubble will appear there! |

Arghh! I meant Actions not options; very sorry about that! The actions dropdown is on the page-navigation bar at the top on the right side.
