Arabma, I don't know the answer to your question, but I went out and bought a Toshiba VHS to DVD converter (on sale). It was able to take all of my old VHS and copy it to DVDs. Unfortunately though, I left some of my VHS tapes too long and some of the files were corrupted. Perhaps one of our PE&More techies can answer your question.

arabma,
I don't know the answer either. It has been a long time since I converted VHS videos to the DVD format. I don't remember having any problems. If someone else doesn't come to the rescue, I would strongly suggest you post in the Roxio forums. I believe you will get timely and expert help there.

I am not familiar with the terminology you are showing (VIDEO_TS.BUP Video_TS.INF VIDEO_TS>VOB), but a few years ago, I had a lot of vhs and 8m videos that I wanted to convert to DVD, and due to the quantity, and the cost of having it done commercially, I bought a Sony VRD-MC5 Multi-Function DVD Recorder for about $200. and it worked great! Did some for friends, (which kept me in Single Malt for a period of time!!!) Not sure if Sony still sell, but you could likely find one on e-bay.

To burn video to DVD (for playing in a standard DVD player) they have to be in a specific format and structure. It sounds like the program you used to get the data from VHS created those files correctly. You then need a program to copy them to the DVD.
Those files will not open in Windows Media Player. Try renaming the .vob file to .mpg and it should work fine. Note that this will not work if you copy it to DVD (for playing in a DVD player).
