When I click on the Download button, nothing happens. The download doesn't start and I get no error messages. What am I missing? I am running Windows 8.1 and PSE 12.

We need more information. Where are you trying to download the trial version from? Can you give us the link?

I may be wrong, but it looks like that is a partial download. Are you sure you gave it enough time? You might want to check the file again (witout re-downloading).

Great job! You nailed it on the head. Not bad for a Windows user! According to this thread, the ".part" means that the download is not finished.

Next issue is working out how to get media/pics into Organiser with their metadata especially date created.

I was able to download the trial version using the second option you listed. I haven't used it extensively yet but it seems to be functioning properly. Thank you for your help.
I am guessing and assuming that the email I received this morning from Adobe extolling the virtues of the new PSE 14, including a video was just a coincidence. It offered me the choice of purchasing or downloading the trial version. The page to download the trial version was the same one which I couldn't get to work.
