Not too long ago (on EV I would imagine, or maybe it was a PET article?) I saw a tut about making a card with text on the side and an image on the right. There were some good ideas in it so I am trying to locate it. Does that ring a bell with anyone?

Thank you, but no. Oh, I wish I could remember what it was called... I think there was maybe a picture of a couple on the right, the canvas was extended on the left with text added, and a bordering image between... So maddening!

Tom,
You may want to contact Janice (cats4jan) at EV. I seem to remember she wrote a tut on the kind of card you are talking about.
EDIT: She is registered here with the same username.

EDIT: She is registered here with the same username. Thanks I will. A moderator question comes to mind: this sort of question seems like it should be posted in the "Images and Creative Techniques" category, but none of the boards that we have right now seem right either. I had this same conflict at EV; there didn't seem to be a proper place to discuss such issues. In fact, I sometimes thought that that was what Pixel Hangout was for! What do you think?

This is just my opinion. I would have posted this in Images and Creative Techniques>Digital Scrapbooking.

If this is to be printed, start with a new blank canvas in the size you will print.
Copy/paste or drag/drop your photo or graphic onto the canvas and resize to fit the area you wish it to take up.
Open the text tool and draw out a text box to keep your text confined to the area you want it to cover and start typing your text.
Is that all you wish to do with your card? I am envisioning a postcard type thing, but if you want to make a foldover greeting card with the text inside, you will need to approach this differently.
Please let me know which type of card you want.

Thank you very much Bayla, but that is not it either. I now believe it was some random tut I ran across while looking for something else, or in a book. Maybe this will sound familiar to someone: there was another tut using an image of one of those rock arches from Utah, along with some text over it...

I have posted some examples of cards over at the Village since I haven't been able to get on Flickr to post something here.
Tom - I don't know which tut you are thinking about, but I would be glad to help you get a card made.

If I run into any problems I will certainly take you up on your offer!
