I got a virus and it corrupted my PSE8. I redownloaded it from Adobe. I went to add all my styles back and it's not working. I went to Program Data>Adobe>Photoshop Elements>8.0>Photo Creations>Layer Styles I added my styles. I backed 2 pages and deleted the .dll file. In the past when I opened PSE it would take a while as it reloaded all the new files. Unfortunately all it did was delete all my stlyes and brushes. I know it must have something to do with the deletion of my old corrupted PSE8 and the download of the new one. Can someone please help me. I have 2 projects that are due out tomorrow and I cannot get the designs done.

Hi nckarter, welcome to PSE&M!
Let's try this.
First of all, double-check the Layer Style files you installed. Make sure everything went OK in the copying/pasting into the appropriate folder.
Delete the MediaDatabase.db3 file again. Also, delete another file -- ThumbDatabase.db3.
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\8.0\ThumbDatabase.db3
Launch Elements, give it time to rebuild these two databases, and then check the Effects panel. You may have to give Elements a hand by refreshing the Effects panel. Click on the Layer Styles tab. Then, click on another tab, for example, Photo Effects. Next, go back and click on the Layer Styles tab again.
As a side note -- Layer Styles are also installed in another folder so that you can apply a style while using the Custom Shape and the Type tools. The path for this second installation is:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements x.x\Presets\Styles Note: On a 64-bit OS, the path will be C:\Program Files (x86)\ . . .
