This is the small town my sister lives in in the mountains of Colorado. I took the shot not sure just what I might end up with. Processing done in Lightroom. I didn't like it much until I added the light vignette, and then the scene seemed to jump out at me. Just thought I'd post and see if it works for anyone else, or if I'm just weird. Shot with Canon 60d, 70-200 f4 IS @ 169mm, 1/160 sec @ f8 and 400 ISO.

Looks good to me. I like the hilly road, the placement of the houses and the splashes of yellow that weave through the scene. I always think small towns have great appeal!

The original is good and using the vignette distracts one from the fencing in the lower right and the building in the lower left. It takes the focus to the main street. Nice work!

Thanks for the comments. I like the compression that I get when using the telephoto on this sort of subject. I more or less igonored my 70-200 lens for landscapes for a long time, but lately I've been using it more and more, with positive results.

Nice autumn shot and the compressed perspective works well.
