Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in this challenge? Just post a photo or photos which will be your interpretation of the theme.
The rules are rather simple.
Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. Your photo(s) should be taken during the week of the theme. You are allowed to do some photoshopping. You are to experiment and, most of all, have fun.

For my colours of the season, I have chosen autumn leaves on the ground in the local park. The trees themselves already look quite bare.

Dennis,
Love the purples in this image - some of the leaves look almost bruised. Usually you find mostly orange in autumnal pictures, so it makes a change!

Berie - Beautiful, soft (not bold) seasonal colors. They create such a peaceful and soothing image.
Dennis - Glad you had your eyes on the ground. Great capture of colors, shapes, and textures (and all seasonal)!

Great composition! It makes one wonder what is just around the corner. I love the leading lines.
I was expecting lots of autumn colors in the areas north of where I am (such as Norway). Here we are only at the 40% mark. The foliage should peak during the last week of this month.

Thought I'd look at the individual colours of a leaf on the turn. Image taken using an extension tube on a standard 50mm lens. Autumn leaf macro by AlexR!, on Flickr

This is the one thing I miss living in Florida. Sure, we get some signs of fall, but I don't get the overall changing of the trees to their beautiful fall coats.

Still relevant to the Challenge due to the colours, but a slight diversion. While processing the 'leaf' image above I was reminded how similar to the terrain a leaf's veins can look. As an old cartographer I love a bit of terrain depiction so I popped back out to pick up some more leaves to see what a more oblique image looked like. Came up with the following, so, here is my autumn landscape in miniature... Autumn leaf macro 2 by AlexR!, on Flickr

This is the one thing I miss living in Florida. Sure, we get some signs of fall, but I don't get the overall changing of the trees to their beautiful fall coats. That was one of the things I missed living in the Bahamas - that and the ability to just jump in the car and drive until I didn't feel like driving any more... and then actually be someplace other than still just a few minutes from home. They call it "island fever" and I had it in spades. I don't think I could be a snowbird, and certainly not a permanent Floridian - I like having seasons. Comes from living most of my 68 years from Colorado north. Colorado is as semitropical as I can deal with.

alex,
Both of your images are very original interpretations of this theme. I really like the up-close-&-personal aspect of your capture. It makes one go back to your images again and again.

Colours have not been particularly good this year and we had a lot of wind in the last few days so lost a lot of leaves. So I got right up close with a fisheye lens to a tree in our backyard so the bare branches aren't as obvious and also gave it a bit of an Autumn boost in Topaz Adjust. Tony

I was over at the father-in-law's farm giving the dog a run today and thought that this fit the theme quite well. Color is tricky to find out here, it's been quite windy, and the trees have mostly lost their leaves, or at least the colorful ones have, so I went a slightly different route and tagged on to last week's theme with this one. The combine is very efficient at picking the corn and stripping the kernels off the ears, but it does occasionally drop an ear.
