I got one Tuesday about the Light Room update 6.2. Here is what he said:
Well the news from Adobe just keeps getting weirder.
The new Import process in Lightroom 6.2 (and Lightroom CC 2015.2) has met with such a terrible backlash from users that Adobe has decided to restore the previous Import process!
I have never seen a major software company reverse course like that.
I just wish they had made this decision before I spent a week creating a video for you on the new Import process.
You can read the announcement from Adobe project manager Tom Hogarty on the Adobe blog in you like:
1. If you have not updated to 6.2 or CC 2015.2, just keep waiting. Adobe plans to restore the old Import process in the next minor update release. Let that release come out and get debugged before you update.
2. If you already updated and are working smoothly, just keep working until the next minor release, then update.
Because of the difficulty and risk of rolling back, if you have updated and are having only minor problems (like me), I’d suggest just limping along until the next minor release restores the old Import process (and hopefully fixes the bugs that came along with it).
I’ll keep you posted as this continues to evolve.
